In the early years, my mother helped
me decide what to be.
Here I am at age 6 with my brother
at age 4.
I'm not really sure who I'm supposed
to be. Cinderella maybe?
After many years of store-bought
costumes and trick-or-treating,
I started to go to parties at my
Girl Scout leader's house.
I was able to really get creative
with some of my costuming.

Here I am as Cyndi Lauper. I think I must have used about all my jewelry to get the right "overdone" effect. Notice my funky pink shades on top of my head! And that ever popular mischievous grin... Girls wanna have fun, indeed!
Keeping with the theme of music
the next year,
I went as a Sony Walkman.
This was actually
one of my easier costumes to make.
A little
cardboard and spray paint, some
face make-up
and a mask, and my headphones.
Vwa-lah!
You can just make out the title
of the tape
I'm playing: Huey Lewis'
"Hip to Be Square."
This year, we did the good Girl
Scout thing and took Halloween buckets
to the kids in the hospital.
I'm the alien space pilot making bunny-ears
behind McGruff the Crime Dog's
head. My leader is in the witch's hat
just to my right. Her daughter
Charlie is in the zombie make-up, and
the cute mouse is her daughter
Stevie. My mother is doing the
gypsy thing there on the end.
One of Roswell's finest is in the
McGruff outfit. He just happened
to be visiting the hospital that night as well.
Here I am as Beauty with my bud
Joey as the Beast.
He took the prize for scariest
costume at the party.
This dress was used six months
earlier at a formal concert
and ended up six months later being
butchered
to make my Junior Prom dress.
See the amazing difference on the
formal wear page!
"Walk Like an Egyptian..."
Here I am shakin' it as Cleopatra.
Yes, I did go store-bought for
my senior year,
but I had a lot of fun with the
face make-up.
God knows how I managed to get
all my hair up in that short black wig!
